If Your Feet Could Talk...
Wear the right shoes
Barefoot queen?
Perfect if you are on the beach, grass or other soft surface (thick rug, maybe). But any other surface that is hard. . . This IS NOT a good idea for a few reasons:
shock from the ground goes up through our legs to our pelvis/sacrum/spine. A shoe will absorb some of the shock, and this depends on the thickness of the shoe.
➠this can aggravate a painful condition, like riding in a car with poor shocks
This is hard on our ligaments and muscles in the feet especially if you are:
overweight as all that pressure is bearing down on the small foot muscles and ligaments and flattening your arch
pregnant for the same reasons above PLUS you have hormones circulating that are preparing you for delivery, ie. relaxing the ligaments
postpartum as you most likely will be carrying the baby around and your hormones have not returned to normal, especially if breastfeeding
have a previous or current foot, ankle, knee, hip, or back problem
SO
❊ Wear good supportive shoes even in or out of the house when you know you are going to be on your feet, carrying things (your lovely 👼! laundry, etc.).
❊ Splurge on wearing your "fancy" shoes when you know you are mostly going to be sitting.
❊ Have a pair of "house shoes." Yes, I know like our mother's did.
